You will become as small as your controlling desire; as great as your dominant aspiration – James Allen
This morning I took the challenge of going into Taiping town on my own and my two toddlers. No big deal about that right? Well in my bionic being, it is one helluva big deal. You see my two toddlers between 3 and 4++ yrs old they are more than a handful to care for. It is a big challenge for me to handle them on my own without any help from anyone. Yet I was determined to get into town and run some errands. Yes, I got the cab. No, I can’t drive just yet but we finally got into town – on our own after all.
Our love and hate affair with Taiping only started some nine months ago. We are still grappling with life in the countryside. My children are still going through withdrawals from the effects of being confined in these four walls. They don’t see nor interact with that many people in their daily lives. Even if they do the locals don’t understand the lingo they speak. However consolation is the house that we now call home. Inside these four walls, the children have a different life. The almost 30 years old house somehow has its own cooling system. Out there in the heat, my kids would melt. Day in and Day out we live our life learning through our only connection with civilization – the internet.
So you can imagine going into town with these two in tow is almost like holding the reins of two powerful buffaloes. They were like caged animals on the loose.
I supposed this challenge came in the wake of Sadik’s webinar yesterday, when he urged participants to have confidence in whatever you do. Mohd Sadik is an old hat with Vemma Asia and he has reached the rank of an Executive after only two years in the business. His style of presentation yesterday was easy to follow as he injected humor in the mundane subject of product knowledge at the 11th hour last night. I listened closely and the word ‘YAKIN’ (Malay) or confidence that he glibly uttered kept drumming in my ears.
I home-school my kids. This week we will use and act out on the word Confidence. Set weekly goals at the beginning of the week and targeted to achieve by the end of the week – with confidence.
